This week we are excited to introduce you to John Kowitz, the man behind the lens and behind the new photo jewelry collection, Under the Waves. John's love of the ocean shines in his photographs, and this photo jewelry collaboration magnifies this love.
John has captured stunning images of marine life in these underwater jewelry pieces. He combines his background in freediving, love for the ocean, and passion for photography to capture these gorgeous underwater images. As a freediving instructor and spearfishing guide, John has combined this knowledge into his photography. "I've always had a passion for the ocean," says John, " so I decided I wanted to capture the amazing images I was seeing underwater."
Kowitz shoots both underwater sea life and human water lovers in their natural environment (I think most drivers would agree that the ocean is their natural environment... wouldn't you?). We love how he captures the stillness, and calm one can have when venturing into the deep. "It's not about capturing an image; it's about telling a story."
