Why We Love Simply Wood Studios
Prior to opening Simply Woods Studios, Aaron was a financial planner making six figures when he decided to pursue his passion as an artist more than ten years ago. At the time, he said he could see the financial industry seemed to care more about corruption than about helping people and that’s not a place where he wanted to spend time. Before quitting his job, he started to create and sell at vendor fairs and was quite successful. While he admits he doesn’t have all the answers about owning a business, he is proud that he pays his artists on time and operates a business of integrity while also pursuing his dream of being an artist. We’re excited to be working with Simply Wood Studios and had the chance to speak to Aaron, the owner, about the shop and products he makes and sells.
What makes Simply Wood Studios unique?
All products sold at our shops are made in Hawaii, including our own handcrafted wood items. Many products that we carry are created and handcrafted in small shops and homes across the Islands. We’re happy that we can support local artisans as well as the local economy; it’s the most rewarding part of my job.
What do you love about living in Hawaii?
I love the family-oriented lifestyle. Everyone is genuinely friendly and enjoys helping each other.
What are your hobbies?
I have too many hobbies to count! I love my toys - bikes, paintball, archery, squash, to name a few.

The jewelry is colorful and well-crafted. It really sells itself!
Why does local matter to us? It matters because Lane Tanner Designs is a local business and we love supporting other Hawaii-based artisans. Our community truly cares about each other and want to share the love of all aspects of Hawaiian living with our customers.

I absolutely love them. I wear them with a lavender colored blouse. I'll have to check to see if you have them in other colors.
By the way, the photo in my string bracelet, which was of a flower, fell out. Is it a press fit, or should I glue it back in?
